The Geothermal Series

Boiling, bubbling, beautiful.

The Geothermal Collection was born on my honeymoon in New Zealand, a place I had dreamed about throughout my geography degree, fascinated by volcanoes and extraordinary landforms. Seeing geothermal landscapes in the wild for the first time sparked pure autistic joy. The colours were almost unbelievable, bold, burning oranges and mineral greens that feel too vivid to be natural, yet entirely are.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, my husband spent the day with me chasing steam plumes and bubbling pools, trying to capture not just the colours but the feeling: the warmth, the movement, the earth breathing and expelling beneath my feet. There’s something profoundly humbling about the power of the geothermal, a reminder that no matter how humans shape the planet, the earth remains forceful, alive, and entirely its own.

This collection reflects that energy. It speaks to the power and resilience of the earth, but also to its breath, the quiet, constant presence beneath the drama. Inspired by the Māori understanding of land as a living ancestor, these works honour the idea that we are guardians, not owners.

Each piece is richly textured and unapologetically bold. They command attention from across the room, yet reward those who step closer. The longer you look, the more you discover: layered details, shifting tones, surfaces that change with the light and the seasons. These artworks don’t just fill a space, they hold it. They bring warmth, strength, and a reminder of something ancient and enduring into your home.

The collection is in two warring yet complimentary elements. Hā Pounamu and Hā Kōwhai
