About
Bobbie Whittaker is a Birmingham based artist whose expressive abstract paintings are collected internationally and exhibited in prestigious galleries across the UK. After taking a career break from Environmental Consultancy, Bobbie returned to her creative roots and is now a practicing artist.
Her work is deeply process led. Each piece begins with a feeling or emotion and evolves organically through intuitive mark making. Working primarily in oils, Bobbie uses bold colours straight from the tube, allowing their vibrancy and energy to remain pure and immediate. Her palette and signature textures are inspired by the beauty she encounters in the natural world.
Nature is both refuge and catalyst in Bobbie’s practice. She finds a profound sense of calm outdoors, and her current body of work seeks to capture not only that tranquillity but also the power and resilience of the earth. Her abstract compositions invite viewers to slow down and look closely, revealing new details over time, much like a landscape that shifts and transforms with changing light. A small area illuminated by sunshine can suddenly become the most captivating element, echoing the fleeting, luminous moments that inspire her work.
Through colour, movement and layered texture, Bobbie creates paintings that offer both stillness and strength, an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the natural world.
