Bluebell Woods - £450

2025, 48x38cm (framed dimensions), Oil on Canvas

This piece is born from a lifetime of quiet pilgrimages, annual walks through the bluebells that carpet the woods near my parents’ home. Each layer of paint carries the memory of returning to that place year after year, where violet blooms spill across the forest floor and sunlight filters in shifting greens and golds. The brushstrokes are loose, textured, almost untamed, echoing how the woods themselves resist containment, wild beauty unfolding in every direction.

In this work, I’ve tried to capture not just the colours of those forays, but the sensation: the deep violet haze against the freshness of spring greens, the fleetingness of blossoms that arrive and vanish within weeks, and the sense of wonder that persists no matter how many times I walk those paths. Bluebell Woods is both a painting and a remembering, a way of carrying that forest’s fleeting abundance forward..

The beauty of my work lies in its versatility; you can choose how it’s displayed to best suit your space. Simply let me know your preferred orientation for hanging the piece and I will add the appropriate fixings.

The price includes the artwork and the natural white wood box frame.
