Big Blue II was inspired by Bobbie’s original artwork Big Blue which launched her art career in 2021. The contrasts between the darker blues and the sharp metallics are inspired by natural phenomena when sun beams pierce blue skies.
This process based work was inspired by the colours created when brass is exposed to water. Bobbie loves the bold aqua colour and contrasted this with metallic oil paints to create a layered abstract form
This work was inspired by the colours in the yellow irises which pop up every year by the pond in Bobbie’s garden. The irises flower at a time when the garden is in full bloom with greenery everywhere. Bobbie wanted to used the contrast of the bold bright yellow with the subtle garden greens while creating the effect of pond ripples using her painting technique.
Winter Blues was created using cool colours representing the first snow of the year with metallic silver elements representing the morning sunshine on dewy grass. The sky blue elements contrasted with the dark grey represent the contrast between dark winter mornings and those beautiful sunny and frosty skies.
This work was inspired by the unknown world at the bottom of the sea. Bobbie’s signature process technique on top of a textured canvas surface created the details and patterns on the piece, and the addition of gold hinted at the light from the surface above.
The piece is a representation of the combination of spring rain and blue skies and was originally inspired by the Prince song 'Purple Rain'. Bobbie loves how the gold spray paint adds a different element to the piece, similar to the slow drips of rain that run down windows.

The pink variety of the aventurine stone is the rarest and contains notes of silver which inspired this series of pieces. Self healing is the main benefit of aventurine as well as facilitating inner strength.
Bobbie loved the unique and subtle combination of colours in this stone and the represented the natural layering common in rock formation through this piece.

Ice was inspired by Bobbie's love of glaciers and the fragility of the earth system.
Bobbie's signature handmade canvases create textures and she love love loves how the texture has come through in this piece contrasting with the smooth flow of the paint.
This process based work was inspired by the colours found in a piece of sandpaper; Bobbie loved the contrast between the greys and the calming greens and whites so much that she had to immortalise it on canvas! The piece combines several processes including application of paint with palette knives, and Bobbie's favourite, dripping paint.
The colours were inspired by Bobbie's geography background and represent tropical islands.
This artwork really pushed the boundaries of the medium by saturating the paint with spirits, and using the handmade canvas Bobbie was able to explore the textures created with the paint. Incorporating the metallic element using spray paint bought a great metallic shine to the work and a great contrast against the dark blue.

This work is part of a series of pieces that represent Bobbie’s feelings in the week leading up to the first COVID lockdown in March 2020.
Bobbie completed this work on canvas, adding a layer each day for a week representing how she was feeling and what was going on on that day.
You can see the influence of the weather, realising that her Art Foundation course would now have to be conducted online, and the feeling of being monitored in the early stages of ‘stay at home’.

This piece was inspired by the colours found in an apple blossom tree outside Bobbie's front door. THe silver spray paint formed a contrast to the natural colours and represented spring rain.
This set of 4 pieces was inspired by Bobbie's great grandmothers Irises which seem to have spread all over our garden and most recently have come up outside my studio. Bobbie wanted to capture the impact of the colours and the variety of different textures in the flower.

Pastel drawing from a small body of water on one of Bobbie's regular lockdown walks. Bobbie loves how the image appears to be black and white but on closer inspection the colours used become apparent.

This piece was inspired by a trip to a Sea Life Centre. Bobbie loved that contrasting colours of tropical fish, coral and the blues associated with the water.
