The pink variety of the aventurine stone is the rarest and contains notes of silver which inspired this series of pieces. Self healing is the main benefit of aventurine as well as facilitating inner strength.
Bobbie loved the unique and subtle combination of colours in this stone and the represented the natural layering common in rock formation through this piece.

Birmingham Lights

This piece was Bobbie’s first oil painting and was created in response to the work of the impressionists.
The subject, Brindley Place, Birmingham, was a date night destination for Bobbie and her partner and this painting is the view from the bridge of love locks. Bobbie spent ages on the bridge looking at the reflections in the water and as a result, was inspired to paint this scene.

Bobbie loved that through relinquishing control over the painting process that it allowed a more experimental finish to her work.
Bobbie chose the colours to reflect the colours of the sea and islands similar to those seen in aerial photographs. She believes the work looks similar to volcanic islands, which she studied as part of her geography degree.
